The construction marks the beginning of a new era for Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville -- a move to realizing their vision of a fully integrated
campus. This will make Jacksonville one of only three places to combine a hospital with outpatient, research and educational facilities

The Mayo Clinic project consist of 214 beds of which are 194 private rooms and 20 semi-private rooms along with 22 operating rooms. The
650,000 square foot project will consist of 500 beds when expanded to 16 floors at a cost of $256.4 million. Completion date is early 2008.
The new teaching and research hospital will be designed to provide state-of-the-art inpatient medical care with maximum efficiency in a
friendly, nurturing environment. All aspects of the hospital will reflect Mayo's standards of excellence, focusing on the needs of the
patient. Mayo Clinic Hospital will make the Jacksonville campus a rare example of a fully integrated medical center "under one roof."
